Connected Device and IoT Data

Effective date: 26 October 2026

This page explains the information handled when you claim and use a Ficious connected device. It supplements the Privacy Policy.

1. What a device sends

A claimed device associated with your account can send sensor readings, device status, and acknowledgements, and can receive commands you issue from the app, such as a feeding request. Readings are stored with the aquarium they belong to so the app can show the latest values and history.

2. Commands and records

A command is recorded with the issuing account, its issue time, and a request identifier so the service can show execution state and avoid unintended repeats. Commands are limited to the capabilities the service supports for that device.

3. Who can see it

Device and aquarium information is available to the account that claimed the device and to people the owner has chosen to share the aquarium with. We do not sell this information or use it for advertising.

4. Your choices

You can unlink or transfer a device in the app and can ask us to correct or delete device information by contacting support. Unlinking stops new readings from being associated with your account; information already stored follows the retention description in the Privacy Policy.

5. Safety

Sensor values and automated actions can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. They are not a substitute for checking water quality and animal welfare yourself, and they are not veterinary or emergency advice.
